The Rainbow Trail Build

The Rainbow Trail

The Rainbow Trail grew from an idea in April 2020 shortly after the start of the first COVID Pandemic lockdown.

It soon became clear that outdoor exercise would be an essential need for older and more vulnerable clients to keep fit and make social contact in a safe, controlled environment. We had been awarded a grant from the Community Lottery Fund which we couldn't use and they brilliantly agreed for it to be repurposed to build the "Rainbow Trail".

With support from Rutland County Council and the Primary Care Network, planning was granted by the first week of June and work started immediately thereafter. It was finished in just 3 weeks complete with donated bike bottle holders to hold sanitiser and a brilliant Rainbow Trail sign made by Bo Jacks. We are also indebted to help from multiple suppliers and primarily Travis Perkins of Peterborough.
