A small group (max 12 people) workshop to give you the confidence and skills to work towards triathlons, longer rides & sportives or to join turbo training sessions without feeling out of place. We invite you to join us for a 2hr 'journey' through the essentials of becoming confident with your bike and riding efficiently. Most of the session is studio based with  emphasis on practical experience but with lots of information to break up the intensity of the session. You do not have to be super-fit to do this workshop so please don't worry; you go at your own speed and capability.

The workshop will cover: Personal safety tips for outdoor riding, especially in Autumn/Winter. Getting comfortable on your bike and how to make minor adjustments if needed. The "M" bike safety check before you ride. Basic skills of mounting & dismounting, cornering methods & braking. How gears work and how to select the right gear for the road ahead before it's too late! How to pedal smoothly and why it's important. Cadence; how to measure it; when to vary it and how to improve it. When to stand up out of the saddle and how to do it (and when not to!). What you need to know for group cycling; the etiquette for joining a group ride. Turbo training; how to mount your bike & what type of training you can do.
