Open Water Introduction for Younger swimmers, Level 3

Session Details

Goal: To develop open water skills in young competitive pool swimmers and triathletes
Location: Rutland Watersports, Bull Brigg Lane, Whitwell, Rutland LE15 8BL
Format: Small group session of 1 hr with at least 30 mins in the water.
Programme Content: Wetsuit on/off, water confidence & safety, Key open water swim skills. Note, we will have in-water swimmers and canoe /boat support and ensure that everyone is safe and has the best opportunity to develop their skills & confidence in open water.
Dates: Thursday 18th July, at 6:30 - 7:30pm (Arrive at 6pm to fit wetsuits).
Suitability: Each Session is limited to a maximum of 20 participants to ensure that we can give you safe attention. Booking essential. Most suited to younger triathletes (11 - 15) who have had an introduction to Open water but want to practice and learn more.
Cost: £10 inclusive of Swim fee & Swim Tow Float (if required) payable on the night by cash, card or bank transfer (details available). Wetsuit hire £3.50 on the night if required - details will be taken ahead of the session to ensure readiness.Note: Normal car parking fees will apply, payment at meter.
Health & Safety: You will be required to sign a Health declaration and Parental Consent (GDPR compliant). Minimum course entry requirement is an ability to swim 400 metres continuously in a swimming pool on any stroke (16 lengths of a 25m pool). Parent or Guardian MUST be present.

This is a small group session to develop open water skills in younger swimmers and triathletes.

Through friendly enthusiastic instruction and motivating guidance we aim to make the process of learning open water swimming and racing a fun and safe experience. Note: All swimmers must be accompanied by an on-shore parent or guardian.
