Small group swims

Important Information

Anglian Water have kindly provided me with the opportunity to offer training and safe, guided swim experiences to groups of 5 people in Rutland Water on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (6-7pm).My objective is to try and offer more sessions for  those who have either not swum in open water or who are nervous of larger group swims and to make this a fun and rewarding experience. I will also offer group training sessions (as apposed to individual coaching) for more experienced triathletes wanting to prepare now for end of season races.

All sessions will be facilitated by me from a canoe with a boat on call for rescue (PPE ready) if needed. For the recreational swimmers we will aim to swim out from the creek and enjoy views over the lake. All screening preparation, booking and payment will be done before the session to maximise our swim time.

There are no changing facilites but toilets are open if needed. You will also have the reassurance of water rescue available (PPE ready) and weekly water testing to ensure we are good to go. Tow floats are mandatory but can be supplied for free. Wetsuits can also be hired for a small incremental charge.

Who: There will be 4 session "levels" available: Level 1 is for recreational swimmers, new to open water and not wanting to stray too far from shore. Level 2 is for more confident recreational swimmers, mainly swimming breaststroke, that are happy to swim out gently together to admire the lovely views, Level 3 is for recreational/sportive swimmers that also want to swim out further, a little faster on mainly frontcrawl. For Levels 1-3 I will coach water safety and (non contact) skills. Level 4 is for triathletes who would like a coached structured training session.
